Singapore fuel sales down 4.3% in 2022

Shipping bunker sales in Singapore, including liquefied natural gas and biofuels, fell 4.3% on-year to 47.9 million tonnes in 2022, official data showed on Friday.

Meanwhile, container throughput in Singapore was 37.3 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2022, down slightly from a record container throughput of 37.6 million TEUs in 2021.

In 2022, a total of 577.7 million tons of cargo was handled, with an arrival tonnage of ships that reached 2,830 million tons of gross tonnage (GT).
