Railroad robberies in Mexico drop from January to October 2022

According to the Rail Transport Regulatory Agency (ARTF), between January and October 2022, rail cargo theft in Mexico registered a 20.8% year-on-year decrease in the number of cases.

The goods with the highest number of reports of theft incidents during that month were grains, seeds and their derivatives with 30.6%, while construction materials obtained 17.4% and consumer goods 15.8%.

The states that registered the highest rate of theft were Sonora with 47 reports, Sinaloa with 28 and Jalisco with 18. These entities, together, represent 60.3% of the total reports of cargo theft during October 2022.
